High Entertainment Value, But....
Who doesn't like the idea of striking it rich?! Gold Rush is about six men who are facing financial ruin, and in a last ditch effort they decide to head to Alaska in search of gold. The main story centers around a father and son who sell everything they own to later invest it in gold mining equipment. They buy large excavation equipment, and lease prospecting land from an old timer in Alaska. The land they lease supposedly contains millions and millions of dollars of gold.. so says the old timer.
As with most reality television shows, this one is largely scripted with your usual cast of bullies and clowns. Probably the most likable character on the show is Jimmy Dorsey, but he gets "written off" the show. While Gold Rush is entertaining, it needs to be mentioned that the cast of this show makes a tremendous amount of errors and common sense blunders, but this is probably what adds the most to the entertainment value. It was very educated. They work real hard. I like the Hoffman crew. I hope they get lots of gold.
Lacks entertainment
Wasted footage on continued coverage of Porcupine Creek. Found the rest interesting albeit a bit boring at times. Probably would not watch a third season.
